That is that the extraordinary has always been a part of the setting. Therefore, the unusual should influence even the most “ordinary” aspects of a setting. A series of three articles will describe “mundane” shops – the butcher, the baker and the candlestick maker – each touched by the fantastic and each shop may add some flavor to your game. This article describes the butcher shop while other articles in this series will describe the baker and candlestick maker shops. -

Posted on August 7, 2009 | 1 CommentThe city state of Corwyn lies in one of the farther reaches of the more civilized territories on a high plain, neatly bordered by forests and mountains to the South and East and by a modest river to the West. Falling outside of the region's major trade routes, inter-city trade and communication between Corwyn and the larger surrounding cities has dwindled - though the quiet, peaceful region remains on good terms with each of its neighbors. Nearly a decade ago, a mysterious blight swept through the high plains, all but destroying the harvest of the local farmers on which the area so heavily relied for its food supply. -
