Today we announce the start of a new crowdsourcing contest: The Monster MashUp!
Here is how it works: See the monster illustrated below? Tell us about it.
WHAT’S THIS MONSTER’S STORY?

What’s this monster’s story? Tell us and win some great prizes! Illustration by Rob Torno
In 300 words or less, submit your own back-story, description, or narrative using the Entry Form below that captures the essence of the monster shown in the illustration above. You can name it, or just simply call it “the monster”. It’s your choice. Also, don’t make any reference to any specific game-system or mechanic; this is a contest of pure “fluff”! Entries to the contest will be accepted from until Monday, April 26th 2010. After the submission period closes, public voting on the entries will continue for seven (7) days; and prizes for First Place and two Runner Ups will be awarded shortly thereafter (see below).
PRIZES
Submit your entries below. Entries will be subjected to a public vote for seven (7) days. The top three entries will then be judged by a panel selected by Nevermet Press who will then choose a First Prize winner and two Runner Ups. The First Prize Winner and two Runner Ups will be announced here on Friday, May 7th, 2010. Submit your entry today!
First Prize
- a pair of CUSTOM, BRASS-INLAID DICE, kindly provided by Unconventional Dice. These are precision hand-made six-sided (d6) dice that will feature the Nevermet Press logo on the face of one die, and a silhouetted image of the monster above on another die. The dice are still being tested and prototyped - but as soon as they are ready we’ll post an image of them here. You can check out some images of other dice designs by Unconventional Dice in this recent review. I’ve seen the prototyped designs for the NMP dice and – in a word – his dice are AMAZING;
